| 2006 | Introduced MAGMA gum to the ceramics community. By nearly perfectly suspending any glaze indefinitely, it will cumulatively save lifetimes worth of mixing time by eliminating hard-settled glazes. |

| 1998-1999 | Codesigned and cosupervised construction of a 60 cubic foot updraft kiln at KCAI. |
| 1994-1995 | Maintained and repaired electric and gas kilns and electric potters’ wheels of numerous designs as part of graduate assistantship duties at Penn State. |
| 1990 | Designed and constructed the ‘X1’, the world’s sturdiest potter’s wheel. Weight: >800 lbs.; Capacity: >1500 lbs. Presently still in service. |
| 1990 | Designed and constructed a natural gas fueled test kiln capable of reaching Δ15 in three hours. |
